Night of the Father's Love
The Awe and Mystery
of God with Us
A sampling
of the feedback… I wanted to thank you for creating an
amazing work. Your blend of new and
familiar themes was brilliant and awe-inspiring. Our congregation can't stop talking about
our presentation. They are saying it
was the best they have ever heard. Scott Stilwell, West
Des Moines Christian Church, West Des Moines, IA Our choir sang Night of the Father's Love at our church's
morning service on December 12, and it was loved by all. Some people in
the congregation said it was their favorite of all our musicals, and hoped
we'd repeat it every year! All the people in our choir (40
singers) said they really liked it and found it "very singable." Our challenge piece was
"Angels Are Making Their Rounds." But after the choir
realized that each part just repeated their own tune exactly the same way
each time, the song came together nicely. Linda
Goodman, Our Asbury Singers (Asbury United
Methodist Church in Eugene, Oregon) presented "Night of the Father's
Love" at the Christmas Eve service last night. Everyone loved it so
much--beautiful, accessible music! I want to spend the rest of my music
budget on something else you have written--what would you recommend? Thank you so much! Candace Syman-Degler, Asbury United
I just wanted you to know that my Jan Pappone, Chancel Choir Director, Our small church choir in Mineola Duane Lunday, We are currently working on your
Christmas cantata, Night of the
Father's Love. I want you to know
that my choir has never been as enthusiastic about any music before and they
already sound wonderful! We are planning to present this on Sunday, December
12th, and I am already looking forward to the experience. My choir brought me
to joyful tears tonight as they sang Angels Are Making Their Rounds.! We
just love singing your music. You have a gift for writing and arranging music
which is beautiful, playful, interesting and yet accessible. Dru DeWitt, Prospect
United We sang your cantata "Night of
the Father's Love" this past December.
We all thought it was our favorite cantata ever. I especially loved the many hints for how
to pronounce words or how to best emphasize certain sections. Thank you so much for them! Your tips made it all so much better. Linda Barnes, Bedington United I’m writing to let you know
that our church thoroughly enjoyed singing your cantata, “Night of the
Father’s Love.” I joined my chancel and youth choirs along with a
partial orchestra. I was very happy that you had substitute parts included
for the saxophones. (We have a very talented sax group, but no brass.) Your
lyrics were wonderful. In fact, for our youth choir tour, they want to sing,
“Waiting.” I was a little worried about “Angels are making
their round.” At first, I was concerned it was a little “hee haw.” But it too became a favorite. It was
perfect in teaching the youth about all the angel visitations and music form!
Our congregation loved it too. Many claiming it was
the “best” cantata they have ever heard! Kitty Williams First
United Last Sunday night my choir of around
28 performed your Christmas cantata "Night of the Father's Love,"
and it was the most glorious thing they have ever done. Afterwards, as
I was praising them for their performance, so many of them expressed how much
they loved the music. Leslie Mabe, Just presented Night of the Father's Love with our small Presbyterian SATB choir this morning.
Terrific! Thanks for providing choral music that is
refreshingly different. The choir, congregation and
pastor loved it. "Waiting" is brilliant. Lonnie McCalister, Northminster
Presbyterian Church,
